World Health Summit-Regional Meeting 2019
The M8 Alliance of Academic Health Centers, Universities and National Academies is a unique network of 25 globally pioneer academic institutions from 18 different countries. The M8 Alliance acts as an academic think-tank for the World Health Summit (WHS) and is committed to improving global health and working with political and economic decision makers to develop science-based solutions to health challenges worldwide. As the most prestigious and leading medical university in Iran, Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS) has been elected as 24th member of M8 Alliance during the World Health Summit in 2016 in Berlin-Germany. Since lunched in 2009, the WHS has brought together stakeholders and decision-makers from every field in healthcare spectrum to exchange with experts from academia, industry, politics, and civil society. Attracting up to 3000 participants and a wide range of stakeholders groups from all over the worlds, the events takes place annually in German capital Berlin. The World Health Summit traditionally enjoy the high patronage of the Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, the President of French Republic, and the President of European Commission. Held annually in spring, the World Health Summit Regional Meeting is organized by the Co-President of each respective year. Tehran University of Medical Sciences will be hosting the 7th WHS Regional Meeting in April 2019 on Kish Island , I. R. iran.
